혼스버그 스트랜드파크는 물과 섬이 만나는 굴곡진 해안가에 위치하며, 현대적인 디자인이 적용된 유기적 형태의 선명한 선형 공간이다.

서쪽으로 스톡홀름 울부순드송이 있고, 석양을 마주하고 있으며, 워터프론트와 세 개의 긴 부교들이 이곳 방문자들에게 물 위에 비친 빛 속을 떠다니고 있는 듯한 느낌을 선사한다. 특히 뜨거운 여름 한낮, 인근 주민들에게는 오아시스와 같은 선물이 되어주며, 수영과 일광욕을 즐기는 공간으로 이용되고 있다. 공원에는 몇 개의 비정형적 휴식 공간이 있고, 무엇보다 조깅이나 수영하는 사람들이 사용할 수 있도록 높이가 큰 태양열 온수 탱크를 가진 샤워실을  갖추고 있는 점이 특징적이다.

혼스버그 스트랜드파크는 주민과 쿵스홀멘 섬을 찾은 방문자들 모두에게 마치 거실과 같은 역할을 한다.

혼스버그 스트랜드파크에 있는 식물들은 하나를 제외하곤 모두 이곳에서 자라지 않는 이국적인 것들이다. 나무는 무리지어 군식을 했고, 나무군락들 사이에는 다양한 행사들을 개최할 수 있는 다목적 오픈스페이스들을 확보했다. 워터프론트는 거대한 콘트리트 크라운으로 이어져 있다.

공원의 전체 길이는 700m가 넘으며, 크게 4개 부분으로 구성돼 있다. 서쪽에는 해안에서 호수로 돌출돼 뻗어나간 서로 다른 길이의 나무 부교들로 이뤄진 제티(jetty, 일종의 방파제로 특별히 해안가에서 물로 돌출돼 뻗어나온 부두를 말함)가 일광욕을 위한 공간으로 놓여 있다. 동쪽에는 원형의 정형적 카즈파르테렌(Kajparterren)이 유기적 형태의 스트랜드파크와 대조를 이루며 서있다. 카즈파르테렌은 수평 원판으로 물가 쪽에 약간 치우쳐 있다. 멀리 동쪽은 기존에 존재하던 구역으로 접근성을 좀더 높이기 위해 리모델링이 진행됐다.

 

이 프로젝트는 모아 마틴슨 광장도 포함하고 있다. 설계자는 울부순드송 외곽의 작은 한 지점이 가지는 공간적 상황과 모아 마틴슨 작가의 예술적 장식에 초점을 맞춰 광장을 디자인했다. 건물의 접근로를 제공하기 위해 광장의 바닥 표면을 상승시키면서, 거리와 레벨 차이가 생겼고, 이 레벨 차이는 사람들이 앉을 수 있는 벽과 계단을 형성했다. 계단 앞에는 카즈파르테렌과 함께 호수 대각선 너머로 광장이 있으며, 같은 방향으로 따스한 석양이 진다. 예술적 장식은 모아 마틴슨의 책에서 인용된 문구들이 새겨져 있는 거대한 화강석 슬라브로 구성됐다. 또한 작가적 주제를 통해 계단에서 멀리 떨어져 있는 조형미가 훌륭한 라일락 나무 그늘에 대한 영감을 받았다. 라일락 나무 그늘은 이 신도시적 환경과는 뚜렷히 대조를 이루는 편안하고, 소박한 모습을 상징한다.

회사는 칼 나이렌(Carl Nyren)에 의해 1948년에 설립됐다. 현재 약15명의 직원이 스웨덴 스톡홀름과 말뵈, 두 지역 사무실에서 일하고 있다. 건축가, 엔지니어, 인테리어 디자이너, 조경가, 도시계획가, 건설환경보호가와 건축모델러는 물론 3D 캐드 모델러까지 고용돼 있으며, 도시 디자인, 마스터플랜, 빌딩 디자인, 공학, 경관, 인테리어 디자인, 보존기술 등 다양한 전문분야가 어우러져 통합적인 해법을 찾는다.

 

Hornsbergs Strandpark is where water and land meet in a curvy shoreline and contemporary design, organic shape and clean lines.
Hornsbergs Strandpark faces west to Ulvsundasjon, Stockholm, and the evening sun. The waterfront and the three long floating piers give the visitor a feeling of floating into the light over the water. This is present particularly on hot summer afternoons when the park becomes an oasis for the surrounding residents and used for grilling and swimming. The park features several informal seating areas and a shower with a high seated tank for water heated by the sun that can be used by joggers and swimmers.

Hornsbergs Strandpark is used as a living room for all residents and visitors of Kungsholmen.
The plants used at Hornsbergs strandpark are all, with one exception, exotic without being gardened. The trees are located in dense groups and there are open spaces that hold different functions and events in the intervals between the various tree populations. The waterfront is connected with the help of a large concrete crown that spans into the solid rock.

The park is over 700 meters long and consists of four parts. To the west lies a jetty for sunbathing with wooden docks jutting into the lake in different lengths. East of it is Kajparterren formed as a contrast to the organic Strandparken. It is a slightly raised horizontal disc slightly leaning towards the water. Far to the east is an existing part that has been renovated to be more accessible.
The project also includes the Moa Martinson square. For the proposed square design, Nyrens have focused on the spatial situation with a small spot at the edge of Ulvsundasjon and on the artistic adornment associations with the author Moa Martinson. Since the square surface is raised to provide access to the buildings it forms a change of level with the street. The difference in level consists of a wall and staircase both possible to sit on. The stairs open to the square that is turned diagonally out to the lake with Kajparterren in the foreground. The warm evening sun falls in the same direction. The artistic decoration consists of large granite slabs that house engraved quotations from the books of Moa Martinson. The author's choice of subject matter has inspired the stylized lilac arbor that breaks forth from the stairs. Lilac arbor symbolizes a homey, rustic appearance that stands in sharp contrast to this new urban environment.
